After spending greater than three weeks in captivity, 70 years previous Chief Gbalipre Turner, father of Ogbia Native Authorities Council chairman in Bayelsa State, has been freed by his abductors.
The sufferer, Chief Gbalipre Turner was kidnapped at his residence in Kpansia suburb of Yenagoa the state capital on September 5.
Confirming the discharge of Chief Turner, the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, of the Bayelsa State Police Command, SP Asinim Butswat, in an announcement on Saturday, mentioned the sufferer was launched on October 1, at Oluasiri, Nembe Bassambiri, Nembe Native Authorities Space.
Butswat mentioned: “Chief Gbalipre Turner ‘m’ 70 years has been launched by his abductors. The sufferer who was kidnapped on fifth September 2021, at Kpansia, Yenagoa, was launched on 1st October, 2021 at Oluasiri, Nembe Bassambiri. He’s hale and hearty and has been reunited together with his household.
“Police Operatives have earlier mounted strain on the abductors which led to the launched of the sufferer. The suspects have been recognized and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
“The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command CP Echeng E. Echeng has ordered officers to sustained the continued investigation to arrest the suspects.”
