The Akyem Asuom District Police Command at Kwaebibirim within the Japanese area has arrested 9 suspected criminals together with a lady, with giant portions of a substance believed to be hashish.

The suspects had been arrested Thursday daybreak throughout a swoop carried out within the Asuom group following rising incidents of theft assaults.

Thy are : Kate Otiwaa, 43, Asimah Emmanuel, 42, Marfo Peprah, 39, Paul Ankomah, 34, Asiedu Daniel, 42, Kofi Nyarko, 45, Kwarteng Michael, 21, Kwadwo Kyei alias Rasta, 46 and Samuel Amuzu, 32.

The operation crew, led by DSP Stephen Abanga, the District Police Commander, first arrested suspects Kate Otiwaa and Asimah Emmanuel and retrieved some portions and wrapped plant substances suspected to be Indian hemp, two bins of Glowing Kingsize rolling papers, two bottles, and two gallons of a drink laced with suspected Indian hemp crops.

The police subsequently arrested Marfo Peprah, Paul Ankomah, Asiedu Daniel, Kofi Nyarko, Kwarteng Michael, Kwadwo Kyei alias Rasta and retrieved one parcel of plant substance suspected to be Indian hemp, one pack of Rothmans cigarette which contained 5 items of cigarette and three wrapped plant substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The final operation carried out of their goal space additionally led to the arrest of Samuel Amuzu.

Two polythene luggage containing plant substances suspected to be Indian hemp and 5 packs of Cicada Rolling papers had been retrieved.

The police crew prolonged the search to the home of suspect Asimah Emmanuel which had three sacks of plant substances suspected to be Indian hemp, six yellow parcels containing plant substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and three bins of tramadol.

Based on the Public Relations Officer of the Japanese Regional Police Command, the suspects have been detained in cells whereas the reveals are retained on the police station.

He stated the suspects will probably be put earlier than court docket on Friday.
