Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has launched its 20th Anniversary to advertise the sustainable and legacy tasks for the communities in its operational space at Tarkwa and Damang Mines.
These tasks, are in areas resembling Education, Infrastructure improvement, Health, Agriculture in addition to Water and Sanitation.
Investment for these Foundation tasks, as at January 2024 has hit US$100million.
The Tarkwa and Abosso Mine every contributes 1.5% of pre-tax income in addition to US$1 for every ounce produced.
Also, proceeds from the sale of scrap supplies from the 2 mines are donated to the Foundation.
Abdel Razak Yakubu, Executive Secretary of Gold Fields Ghana Foundation on the Media launch at Tarkwa within the Western Region defined that the mission of the Foundation, is to advertise and facilitate sustainable socio-economic improvement to be able to enhance the standard of life in Ghana. According to him, the Foundation focuses totally on the communities round Gold Fields working mines in Ghana, (Gold Fields Ghana Limited and Abosso Goldfields Limited), notably these straight affected by mining actions and the place the corporate workers and their dependents reside.
He stated the Foundation ensures equity and integrity in all enterprise dealings, and recounted the influence and improvement it has undertaken within the host communities and prayed for steady peaceable co-existence.

He famous that the Foundation has fulfilled its function of offering infrastructure to the communities such because the Huni Valley Senior High School, Hospitals, Clinics, Apprenticeship and Graduates Training Programme, Doctors and Nurses Accommodation, Scholarship to over 2,000 college students inside its catchment areas amongst others.
“We can see massive legacy project such as the construction of the Tarkwa-Damang road, the Tarkwa and Abosso (T&A) Park which cannot be found anywhere in South Saharan Africa when it comes to the work of a foundation” he added
He inspired the Foundation to proceed with the massive challenge to influence Tarkwa and its environs.
Sulemanu Koney, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines famous that the facility of mining industries has remodeled lives and companies within the nation “Gold Fields has come far all these years and continues to be a leader, and this should not be taken for granted”.
He identified that the Foundation has turn into big within the mining business, a catalyst for change and improvement.
He recommended them for the big steps it has taken in company social funding particularly the Damang street and the development of T&A Park.
Mr. Koney referred to as for deeper collaboration, cooperation from opinion leaders of their operational space.

Dr. Tony Aubynn, a Trustee of the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation was excited in regards to the improvement the corporate has dropped at the communities and congratulated them on their 20th Anniversary.

Four fundamental faculties from the host communities will compete for the anniversary trophy and bragging rights at Bompieso Community Centre.
