Absa Financial institution Ghana and AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, have partnered to assist Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Obuasi and its environs as a part of efforts of the latter in direction of the transformation of the native economic system the place it operates.
To this finish, the 2 organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark the partnership.
The 2 might be collaborating to undertake 4 initiatives to help SMEs throughout the Obuasi Mine’s operational space to enhance their enterprise functionality and create non-direct mining jobs in Obuasi, with the purpose of diversifying and sustaining the native economic system.

The 4 initiatives are Enterprise Acceleration and Sustainability, Ladies in e-Commerce, Enterprise Provide Chain Improvement, and the Artisans to Entrepreneurs Venture.
A press release issued by Absa Financial institution in Accra on Friday stated the partnership would supply MSMEs with expertise coaching and assets to drive accelerated business progress, entry to finance and markets, data of the digital economic system, and an upskill of technical and vocational artisan expertise.
“By nurturing them by focused mentorship, funding opportunities and entry to trade consultants, each organizstions are dedicated to creating an enabling and thriving entrepreneurial environment for MSMEs in Obuasi,” it stated.
