The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has accepted the request by Governor Douye Diri to nominate 24 particular advisers.
The meeting’s nod was sequel to the letter despatched to the legislature by the governor looking for approval for the appointment of the aides.
The letter was titled, ‘Request for approval for the appointment of Special Advisers.’
Names weren’t connected to the letter which was learn on the ground of the meeting by the Clerk of the House, Adogu Kent, throughout Tuesday plenary presided over by the Speaker, Abraham Ingobere.
The letter learn, “I write to hunt the approval of the House of Assembly for the appointment of 24 Special Advisers to the Governor.
“The goal of the appointment is for efficient governance and fulfilment of the imaginative and prescient of the prosperity of the state.
“It is in accordance with the provision of Section 196 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.”
The member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 2, Edwin Bubou-Obolo, moved the movement for the meeting’s approval of the governor’s request, which was seconded by his Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 counterpart, Marlon Moses.
They unanimously said that the approval was crucial to offer legislative assist to the authorities.
