The Ogun State Authorities has learn the riot acts, warning towards the burning of refuse within the state. The federal government additionally mentioned it has change into against the law to dump refuse on the highway within the state.

The federal government mentioned this at a press briefing collectively organised by the ministries of Bodily Planning and City Growth; and Atmosphere in commemoration of 2021 World Habitat Day.

The Commissioners for Bodily Planning and City Growth, Olatunji Odunlami and the Particular Adviser to the governor on Atmosphere, Ola Oresanya warned the individuals towards partaking in harmful acts that might result in the technology of carbon dioxide.

Talking on this 12 months’s theme “Accelerating city motion for a carbon-free world”, Olatunji mentioned it was geared toward specializing in the intense impression of carbon footprints in city centres and the steps in the direction of its discount and 0 technology.

Giving the warning towards burning and dumping of refuse on the roads within the state, Oresanya described the acts as depraved and unlawful.

He mentioned, “Burning of refuse is an act of wickedness, it’s unlawful, your subsequent neighbour could also be asthmatic and you’re killing him. We don’t tolerate it in Ogun state. In no way should anyone burn refuse in Ogun state underneath no situation.
