Former high flight star Stephen McGinn feels there’s a snobbery round Celtic and signing gamers from the Scottish league, which he believes is misplaced.
The Bhoys went all the way down to a shock 2-1 loss at Kilmarnock on Sunday and their lead on the high of the Scottish Premiership desk has been lower in consequence.
Thoughts are turning in direction of the January switch window, which opens in a matter of weeks, and a few really feel Celtic want one other striker.
McGinn thinks there are candidates within the Scottish Premiership who may do the job, however is of the view there’s a snobbery holding Celtic again from trying domestically.
“I think there is a snobbery, going and signing an [Albian] Ajeti for £5m from Basel, doesn’t work”, McGinn stated after the Kilmarnock sport on BBC Radio Scotland.
“It appears should you make a signing from Scotland and it doesn’t work then it’s ‘oh we can’t signal anybody from this league once more’.
“You consider the likes of Scott McDonald and [Leigh] Griffiths, additional again the park with [Stuart] Armstrong and [Ryan] Christie.
“You know for a fact these guys [like Lawrence Shankland and Bojan Miovski] and will score goals if you give them an opportunity.”
Brendan Rodgers is anticipated to be given an enormous say in Celtic’s switch enterprise and if the Bhoys do dip into the market all eyes shall be on whether or not they store domestically or look elsewhere to strengthen.
