Chelsea continue with their tussle to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting this summer.
The much wanted midfielder has been linked to multiple Premier League clubs in recent months, and over the past few weeks it’s the Blues who have been edged out ahead.
They’re thought to be in a battle with PSG, and both clubs are willing to beat Ugarte’s €60m release clause. That means it’s down to the player to decide which of the two he joins, and Saturday’s edition of Record makes it clear that, all things being equal, he’d lean towards a move to the Premier League.

The Blues have now informed the player’s agents that they’re set to make a ‘new offer’ to try and convince him. That would consist of €3.5m, with the possibility of bonuses based on success.
Whether that can swing it for Chelsea remains to be seen.
