The Tamale District Court within the Northern Region has remanded 4 accused individuals into police custody over the homicide of Abbas Baba Barnabas, also called Biggie, a soya bean seller within the area.
The late Baba Barnabas, 39, a resident of Tamale, was allegedly killed by a gang whereas he was en path to Gushegu to buy soya beans.
The assault reportedly occurred in a bush close to Zingban, beneath Gushegu, as he travelled on a bike along with his enterprise accomplice within the space on Friday, March 22, 2024.
The alleged mastermind of the assault, Baba Abuba, who is named the sufferer’s enterprise accomplice, is claimed to have orchestrated the incident, initially meaning to rob the deceased, who was carrying over GHC350k on the time, leading to Biggie’s premature dying.
The 4 accused individuals, together with Baba Abuba, Mayiuba Mayiubor, Wunbei Abu, and James Adam, appeared earlier than the courtroom on Wednesday, March 27.
They face prices of conspiracy to commit homicide, homicide and theft, as per Section 46 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act 1980, Act 29.
They have been remanded into police custody and are scheduled to reappear in courtroom on April 11, 2024.
