The Ghana Nationwide Faculty Feeding Associations have alleged that there’s a grand scheme on the Secretariat of the Ghana Nationwide Faculty Feeding Programme (GNSFP) to take advantage of the state for the non-public positive factors of some.
The associations alleged that as a lot as GH¢12 million had been paid to people within the title of 511 “ghost colleges” for the 2019/2020 educational yr.
At a press convention in Accra yesterday, the spokesperson of the associations, Caroline Aboagye, described the event on the Secretariat as an anti-government agenda, which have to be stopped.
“Because the first time period of the 2019/2020 educational yr, the GNSFP has been paying colleges which aren’t on the feeding programme.
“It’s estimated that over GH¢12.9 million was paid to over 511 colleges throughout the nation which aren’t on the college feeding programme,” the spokesperson of the group, alleged.
Ms Aboagye mentioned as many 139 colleges within the Volta Area, 41 within the Ashanti, 43 in Japanese, 10 in Western North, 59 in Ahafo, 33 in Higher Accra, 11 in Western, 9 in Bono, 30 in Central, 12 in Northern, 11 in Bono East, and 5 within the Higher West areas had been smuggled into the cost system of the feeding programme.
She, subsequently, requested the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to trigger an investigation into the actions of the Coordinators and Administrators on the Secretariat, the nationwide, regional and district ranges, to “finish the looting of the general public purse”.
“We name on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Minister of Gender, Kids and Social Safety, Sarah Adjoa Safo, to order all appointees at each the Nationwide and Regional Secretariats of the college feeding programme to step apart for investigations to begin into their fraudulent actions.
“We all know the President is incorruptible and corrupt individuals should not be allowed to dent his title and picture. They need to go,” Ms Aboagye mentioned.
In her view, the present administration of the programme had proved to be extremely incompetent, corrupt and vindictive because it threatened caterers who voiced their grievances with contract termination.
Based on Ms Aboagye, the brand new administration on the faculty feeding programme has relegated monitoring to the background, giving method for individuals to take advantage of the system to their private profit.
She bemoaned the shortage of involvement of the native assemblies and the Ghana Training Service within the administration of the programme, which, in her view, makes it troublesome for monitoring, albeit intentionally.
“The secretariat wants overhauling as a result of we will’t work with these corrupt officers. If the President doesn’t take any motion, it can be laborious for the NPP to interrupt the eight-year jinx,” the spokesperson mentioned.
