Protestors who had been in search of the eye of the Finance Ministry for the discharge of their locked-up funds had been denied entry to the premises of the Ministry, regardless of an assurance by the Minister to grant them viewers.
Members of the Locked-up Investment Holders Forum moved to the Finance Ministry after participating the Governor of the Bank of Ghana to assist them redeem their investments from 4 monetary homes and financial savings and loans firms.
The members have been participating the Bank of Ghana since 2023, to start processes to redeem their investments from the monetary establishments.
Members of the group hoisted placards with inscriptions of their plight, as a result of they are saying the central financial institution has not demonstrated good religion and urgency within the matter.
The convener of the group, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, says they need the BoG to take over these monetary establishments and refund their investments to them.
“We have had a successful meeting with the Bank of Ghana Governor, and they are ready to revoke the licenses of these institutions, but they want assurances from the Finance Ministry and Government that they will make funds available to start and complete the process”, he mentioned.
They weren’t profitable in petitioning the Finance Minister, because the safety guards won’t permit them inside.
“We got here right here, and the safety individuals say there’s no minister, there’s no deputy, not even the Ministry’s Director. And that’s unlucky. I personally introduced a letter right here on Saturday to tell them and at present we come right here, and there’s nobody.
They insist they are going to proceed with their picketing each fortnight, till their matter is resolved.
