The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has addressed issues highlighted in a current article about thefts from unaccompanied baggage at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The article described a scene of quite a few disgruntled people on the KIA baggage complaints workplace, expressing their frustration over objects lacking from their baggage.
The publication urged the GACL to implement stringent entry controls to stop unauthorised entry into areas the place passenger baggage is stored.
In response, the GACL administration in an announcement on Sunday, June 16, acknowledged it had “taken note of the concerns raised in the publication and is taking the needed steps to immediately investigate and address it.”
“Furthermore, plans are already in motion to restrict access to non-travellers and unauthorized personnel at security zones, such as baggage hold areas.”
The assertion added that any particular person discovered responsible of theft or extortion, actions that hurt passengers’ experiences and tarnish GACL’s popularity, would face extreme authorized penalties.
“Management wishes to assure the general public of its commitment to ensure that operations at the airport are safe and secure for our travellers,” the assertion concluded.
