The Ministry of Finance has refuted latest reviews suggesting that the federal government is partaking in debt restructuring negotiations with personal banks and native contractors.
According to the Ministry, such claims are unfounded, as no debt restructuring with native contractors has been contemplated or initiated, both throughout or after the home debt restructuring programme that started in December 2022 and concluded in October 2023.
The clarification comes after media reviews misinterpreted remarks made at a latest Monthly Press Briefing on the Economy, held on twenty ninth August 2024.
