The Elders and leaders of the Ibibio Sociocultural Organisation, represented by ‘Akwa Esop Ima-Isong Ibibio,’ mentioned on Tuesday that they assist and are dedicated to the Invoice amending the Conventional Rulers Regulation, Cap. 155, Legal guidelines of Akwa Ibom State, 2022.
Recalled that the Invoice which had already been assented to by the state governor, Pst Umo Éno, had generated controversy with another ethnic teams opposing the Invoice.
The Annang Youths Discussion board had opposed the Invoice as a result of the legislation seeks to grant perpetual management of the Conventional Rulers Council to the Oku Ibom Ibibio, disregarding the longstanding rotational provision amongst all paramount rulers within the state.

Etuk (CFR) because the President-Common of Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Conventional Rulers and HRM, Odidem Bassey Etim Edet, because the Chairman of the Council as a part of the ceremony marking the thirty sixth Anniversary of Akwa Ibom Statehood.
“We additionally need to commend the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Udeme Ottong and Members of the eighth Akwa Ibom State Home of Meeting for passage of the Invoice for the modification of the Conventional Rulers Regulation, Cap. 155, Legal guidelines of Akwa Ibom State, 2022.
