Quick previous President Normal of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has distanced himself from a media publication ascribing to his statements on the killings in Imo and Anambra states.
The story, in keeping with Nwodo, had it that he blamed the Indigenous Individuals of Biafra, IPOB, for the killings within the southeast states.
However Nwodo in a response to the web publication, on Sunday, stated it was unfounded, sustaining that he by no means spoke to anyone on such a controversial concern.
He dismissed the story as emanating from mischief makers and urged most of the people to disregard it.
Nwodo stated: “My consideration has been drawn to a publication alleging that I made a press release on the current killings in Imo and Anambra States.
“The assertion additional alleged that I referred to IPOB as being chargeable for the killings.
“I state with out reservation that I didn’t make any such statements. I’ve intentionally refused any press interviews since I completed serving out my tenure as President Normal of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
“I took this choice to be able to be sure that my successor’s voice is undiluted and unmistaken as the only voice of Ohaneze management.”
He described the story as speculative journalism and urged the media to be guided of their publications.
