Ghanaian legendary musician and songwriter, Bernard George Kobena Brako, professionally recognized as Ben Brako has revealed that he birthed most of his hit songs whereas education on the University of Ghana, Legon.
Ben Brako, is the voice behind a few of Ghana’s best highlife hits like Mewie, Basaa Basaa and the like.
The prolific lyricist in an interview on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show, YLeaderboard Series section reminisced on his early days as a younger musician, hinting at how seamless the lyrics of his hit songs have been.
He hinted that the primary track he wrote whereas within the college, was titled ‘Mewie Magrodzi’ which might turn out to be, a world hit and is taken into account as a timeless traditional at present. “As a young singer, I had a guitar in my room; I’d just pick it up and then I started to play that first song putting the melody together. The first song I wrote is ‘Mewie Magorodzi’.”
After getting his first diploma on the University of Ghana, he quickly left for the United Kingdom which he famous had a extra conducive music ecosystem to set his profession into movement. While sharing his nomadic expertise within the United Kingdom, he mentioned “I created a lot of the music in Ghana; while I was in the university, before I moved to the UK and those songs were written to become the best of my hit songs.”
