The Ghana Veterinary Medical Association (GVMA) has appealed to the federal government and the donor communities to extend their assist to the animal well being sector.
The affiliation pleaded with the federal government to deal with points in regards to the situations of service of Veterinary Surgeons and Para-veterinary professionals.
In an announcement signed by the President of the Association, Dr. Cyril Quist, on November 30, 2023, he mentioned, “We also use this opportunity to appeal to the Government and the donor communities to increase their support to the animal health sector in this country, through retooling of the Veterinary Services and its allied institutions such as Fisheries, Wildlife, Private Veterinary Hospitals/Clinics and the veterinary medical schools. We plead that issues concerning the terms of employment/conditions of service of Veterinary Surgeons, and Para veterinary professionals should also be appropriately addressed to motivate them for an improved service delivery.”
The Ghana Veterinary Medical Association congratulated farmers and fishers, acknowledging the big contribution and sacrifices they make within the agricultural sector.
The thirty ninth National Farmers’ Day is scheduled for Friday, December 1, 2023.
