A person, recognized merely as Vwede, has absconded after beating his two-year-old son to demise in Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred alongside Imiringi street in Yenagoa, the state capital on Sunday, September 26.

It was gathered that the suspect from Delta State, brutally flogged the boy and took him to a hospital alongside the Ruthmore Lodge street at Immiringi after he misplaced consciousness. 

The daddy was mentioned to have absconded to an unknown vacation spot instantly hospital workers knowledgeable him that the boy had died. 

The hospital workers then contacted the Police and the non-governmental organisation, Do Basis which is concerned within the marketing campaign in opposition to gender violence and safety of the kid. 

It was additionally gathered that the deceased boy’s mom reportedly deserted him together with his father and bolted after delivery.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, mentioned the daddy had since bolted and his whereabouts are unknown in the meanwhile.
