A Kwara State Excessive Courtroom has sentenced a self-styled ‘Alfa’, Jamiu Isiaka, to twenty-eight years in jail for impersonating presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina to defraud a South Korean.

The Ilorin zonal command of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC), had on June 14, 2019, arraigned the defendant on four-count prices, to which he pleaded not responsible.

Mr Isiaka had introduced himself because the president’s spokesperson and a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Nationwide Petroleum Company (NNPC), late Maikanti Baru, to defraud South Korean Keun Sig Kim of N30 million.

The convict scammed the foreigner of assorted sums of cash underneath the pretense of securing for him an NNPC permitted advertising and marketing type and license certificates to purchase crude oil in Nigeria, the courtroom heard.

The impersonator stated he used a part of the cash to purchase a vulture, elephant pores and skin, elephant gut, the cranium of a lion and liver of a gorilla as substances to conduct sacrifice for the South Korean.

The prosecutor tendered proof of how the fraudster obtained $88,521 from his sufferer underneath the guise of serving to him procure approval from the NNPC.

Delivering judgement on Thursday, Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar held that the prosecution tendered sufficient proof to persuade the courtroom the defendant was responsible.

The courtroom sentenced the fraudster to seven years in jail, on every rely, to run concurrently, and ordered the forfeiture of property recovered from the convict, which had been stated to have been proceeds of his illegal actions.

The forfeited property included a four-bedroom bungalow at Oke-Foma, Ilorin; a Toyota Corolla automotive; plasma tv; dwelling theatre; freezer; generator; washer; and an LG air conditioner.
