Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South, has petitioned the Electoral Commission (EC) concerning over 1,000 voter transfers attributed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The grievance, submitted below C.I. 91 laws, asserts that these transfers contain people who don’t reside within the Manhyia South constituency.
The EC has referred the case to the Magistrate Court on the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi for additional examination.
Landlords of the properties the place these voters are registered have testified in court docket, denying that the people truly dwell at these addresses.
Following the hearings on September 20, 2024, the court docket has adjourned the proceedings till September 24, 2024, when a ruling is predicted.
