Mba, Owohunwa await PSC approval as Ogun, Lagos CPs – Out Source

The redeployment of former Force spokesperson, Frank Mba and his colleague, Idowu Owohunwa as Commissioners of Police, Ogun and Lagos Commands respectively, is pending the approval of the Police Service Commission, The PUNCH reviews.

This was as the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, on Tuesday ordered the posting and redeployment of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, and Commissioners of Police to completely different departments, instructions, and formations throughout the nation.

The PUNCH reviews that the redeployment of 9 others as CPs can also be pending the approval of the PSC.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi mentioned DIG Danmallam Mohammed had been redeployed to the Department of Finance and Administration whereas the next AIGs have been posted to take up the duties and duties of the DIGs accountable for the next departments of the Force as indicated towards their names.

Hafiz Inuwa was posted to Department of Training and Development, Aji Janga to Department of Research and Planning, Adeleke Bode to Department of Operations, Habu Ahmadu as Force Secretary, whil Shuaya’u Abdulyari assumes workplace as the AIG accountable for the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Similarly, the next senior law enforcement officials have been posted to take up duties and duties as AIGs accountable for zonal police instructions as indicated towards their names.

Matthew Akinyosola as AIG Police Mobile Force, Jonathan Towuru as AIG Zone 6 Calabar, Sylvester Alabi as AIG Zone 2 Lagos, Akande Kayode as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo, and Abimbola Shokoya as AIG Zone 17 Akure.

Adejobi famous that in step with the IG’s mandate and techniques to strengthen the operational buildings of state instructions, the police boss has equally ordered the provisional posting of Adebola Hamzat as CP Adamawa State, Frank Mba as CP Ogun State, Suleiman Yusuf as CP Taraba State, Idowu Owohunwa as CP Lagos State, and Faleye Olaleye as CP Ebonyi State pending the approval of the Police Service Commission.

Meanwhile, The PUNCH reported that the PSC had suspended the promotion/switch of Mba, Owahunwa, and 9 different Deputy Commissioners of Police to the subsequent rank of Commissioners because of their failure to seem earlier than it for the obligatory promotion interview.

In an announcement by its spokesperson, Ikekechukwu Ani on Sunday, the PSC famous that the transfer was a part of the selections of the reconvened 18th plenary of the fee which held in Abuja on Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3, 2023, and chaired by Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, appearing chairperson of the PSC.

Ani mentioned, “The PSC had despatched invites to the officers to seem earlier than it for the same old interplay to determine their suitability and functionality for the brand new places of work.

“The commission expressed surprise on their failure to honour the invitation especially as the 2023 general election is just days away.”
