A Vice President of Imani Africa, Mr Birhgt Simons has mentioned that the outcomes from the Assin North by-election which happened on Tuesday, June 27 and was received by the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC) in addition to the Kuamwu by-election received by the New Patriotic Celebration (NPP) present that the opposition NDC is sustaining its stage of assist from 2020 whereas disgruntled supporters of the incumbent NPP are largely staying house.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has counseled the Electoral Fee (EC) for a profitable by-election in Assin North.

In a press release, he mentioned that Ghana’s democratic credentials have been strengthened even additional following the conduct of peaceable and credible elections within the Assin North by-election.

“I congratulate warmly the Chairperson and Members of the Electoral Fee, once more, for a job well-done. “I congratulate the Nationwide Democratic Congress on its victory yesterday. Through the by-election, Mr Gyakye Quayson beat Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Celebration (NPP) and Bernice Enyonam Sefenu of the Liberal Celebration of Ghana (LPG) to reclaim the seat within the Tuesday, June 27 by-election.

His votes margin as in comparison with the 2020 outcomes is over 1,300. In that election, Mr Gyakye Quayson polled 17,498 votes to beat NPP’s Abena Durowaa Mensah, who polled 14,193.

Mr Gyakye Quayson, who was declared invalidly elected in 2020 by a Supreme Courtroom judgement, will return to take his seat in Parliament.
