The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Da Costa Aboagye has introduced a forthcoming initiative that may allow Ghanaians to entry free medical checkups at any well being facility on their birthday.
This initiative goals to rework the healthcare panorama by prioritising preventive care and decreasing the prevalence of non-communicable ailments within the nation.
Speaking in a media interview on Thursday, May 16, Dr. Aboagye disclosed that the committee overseeing the implementation of this initiative is within the closing levels of stakeholder engagement.

Dr. Aboagye’s added that this initiative underscores the NHIA’s dedication to enhancing entry to healthcare companies for Ghanaians and selling proactive well being administration methods.
By offering free medical checkups on birthdays, he insisted that NHIA seeks to empower people to take cost of their well being and deal with potential well being considerations early.
“Now we’re providing each Ghanaian the chance to go to any well being facility on their date of delivery or month of delivery to no less than test their vitals as soon as a month.

“So we have even cut some of the processes that we use to make sure we implement this, the committee is at the tail end of doing the stakeholder engagements then implementation will start. So, for me, that will be good news and it will revolutionise our healthcare architecture in such a way that we will reduce some of these diseases and non-communicable diseases,” Dr Aboagye mentioned.
