Following the result of its emergency delegates assembly, in Abuja, the Nigerian Medical Affiliation, NMA, has suggested the Nationwide Affiliation of Resident Medical doctors, NARD, to droop its nationwide strike.
In a communiqué signed by its Secretary Normal, Dr Ekpe Philips Uche, the NMA mentioned the recommendation was based mostly on the continuing intervention by the Affiliation.
Different resolutions by the NMA on the assembly included; a mandate to the Nationwide Officers Committee, NOC, to make sure speedy implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, signed with the Federal Authorities of Nigeria on the twenty first of August, 2021 and the NOC to report again to the Nationwide Government Council, NEC, of NMA periodically on the progress being made on the implementation of the MOU.
The NMA additionally mandated the NOC to proceed to interface with the Chairmen of the state branches together with the FCT on the progress being made.
They additional disclosed that the assembly which lasted for about seven hours had in attendance members of the Nationwide Officers Committee, NOC, Previous Presidents, Previous Secretaries Normal, Presidents and Nationwide Officers of Associates, Chairmen of the 36 State branches, FCT and their delegates.
The one agenda on the assembly was the evaluation of the progress of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Nigerian Medical Affiliation and was presided over by the President of the Affiliation, Professor Harmless Ujah.
