A lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has stated that there isn’t a cause for alarm because the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal will on Friday (tomorrow) ship a judgment on the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke within the July 16 governorship election.
Olajengbesi, who stated “the language of justice is clear and will be dispensed appropriately,” additionally expressed optimism that the Tribunal on Friday would dismiss the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress and former governor Gboyega Oyetola towards Governor Adeleke.
He stated the Tribunal would dismiss Oyetola and the APC’s petition simply because the Supreme Court threw away a case by an ex-governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dotun Babayemi, difficult Adeleke’s candidature in September 2022.
Adeleke had within the governorship election on July 16 secured 403,371 votes, 28,344 greater than Oyetola who polled 375,027 votes. Adeleke’s victory was resounding as he recorded a landslide win in 17 native governments out of the 30 native councils. Adeleke was subsequently introduced because the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission and sworn in as Executive Governor on November 27, 2022.
However, Oyetola and the APC approached the Tribunal to problem Senator Adeleke’s victory.
Olajengbesi stated, “The victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke because the Governor of Osun State is divinely orchestrated. It is a testomony that God guidelines over the affairs of males and offers energy to whoever he wills and on this case, He has made Adeleke the occupant of the Osun Government House for the subsequent 4 years.
“There is no cause for alarm as the Tribunal delivers its judgement on Friday. The Adeleke camp remains unshaken because the language of justice is clear and it will be dispensed appropriately in our favour.”
Expressing confidence, he stated, “Again, just like the Supreme Court dominated in favour of Adeleke in September, the Tribunal will affirm the senator because the democratically elected governor of Osun on Friday and this matter will likely be laid to relaxation directly.
“The people of Osun defended their mandate at the election in July and will defend it once more at the Tribunal. Adeleke shall emerge victorious once more.”
