The fifteenth Governing Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Council has halted the implementation of the newly authorized verification price for nurses pending its assessment.
The Council in an announcement on March 26, stated the choice follows discussions with related stakeholders, relating to their considerations.
However, the Council will revert to the earlier price construction within the meantime.
Background:
The National Council of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) on March 22, started a protest towards the latest hike in verification charges for nurses.
This was after Parliament introduced a big improve in the price of overseas verification from GH¢550 to a considerable GH¢3,000, representing a staggering 445.45% rise.
