The Osun State Government has urged residents to volunteer data that may allow it to determine the mother and father of a day-old child deserted within the Dagbolu Area, Ikirun, Osun State.
This was contained in a launch printed within the State Ministry of Information and Public Engagement’s information bulletin, obtained in Osogbo, the state capital, on Sunday.
The launch was collectively signed by the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Mrs Ayobola Awolowo, and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Abimbola Babatunde.
The child reportedly put in a carton and positioned at a spot in Zone ‘B’ Area in Dagbolu, was discovered by a resident, whose identification was not disclosed.
The assertion learn, “A day-old child, named Temitope Daniel, who was deserted inside a carton round Zone ‘B’ Area, Dagbolu, Ikirun has been discovered by a very good Nigerian.
“All efforts by the police and the social staff of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs to find the kid’s mother and father have been fruitless.
“This release therefore enjoins members of the public with relevant information about the abandoned child to assist in locating his parents.”
