Three individuals who describe themselves as residents of Ghana with curiosity within the combat in opposition to corruption have petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to research the involvement of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia within the PDS deal.
The Petitioners are; Issifu Seidu Kudus Gbeadese, Elikem Kotoko, Stephen Kwabena Attuh.
According to them, they need the OSP to:
i. Pursuant to part 3(1)(a)(b)(c) and (d) of the Office of Special Prosecutor Ad, 2017(Act 959), we request the Special prosecutor to research the complicity or in any other case of the V, President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia and the function he performed on the assembly he chaired, which approved MiDA to just accept the downgrade of the required Bank Guarantee to Insurance Guarantee per Conditions Precedents numbers 24 and 31 of the PDS settlement.
ii. We, the undersigned residents of Ghana, additionally, request the Special Prosecutor to research and unravel the circumstances resulting in such a call to fluctuate the situations precedent into situations subsequent, which successfully led ECG to switch the property of ECG to PDS and in consequence, inflicting Ghana to lose the second tranche of the compact of MCC to the tune of 5190 million.
iii. Pursuant to sections 2(b) and three(1)(d) of the Office of Special Prosecutor Ad, 2017 (Ad 959), we request the particular prosecutor to get better the about 54.25 million of the taxpayer’s cash PDS sanctioned to be withdrawn from the ECG working accounts to safe the fabricated Insurance Guarantee, at a time PDS didn’t have any legit proper over the property of ECG, and in consequence PDS couldn’t authorize for any such funds to be made out of the working account of ECG.
iv Finally, we the undersigned residents of Ghana, request the workplace of the Special Prosecutor to undertake investigations into any associated matter which led to the termination of the PDS deal and the fee to the taxpayers of Ghana.
