According to her, the marshalls who will come on board in January of 2024 will monitor and report instances of gender-based violence which she tagged as “Orange Girls.”
While elevating concern over the rising instances of sexual gender-based violence in Nigeria, she mentioned fatalities have been over 1,250 because the launch of the National Gender-based Violence Situation Room and dashboard in November 2020.
She additional revealed that 28,000 GBV instances have been reported nationwide, over 9000 courtroom instances have been opened towards offenders and over 8,000 are nonetheless pending in numerous courts.
While stressing that the 16 days of activism have been imagined to be for advocacy, she mentioned that individuals gained extra consciousness in comparison with earlier years.
