SSNIT Saturday service to be piloted for 6 months -Deputy Director -General

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) on the weekend launched its new initiative which is supposed to deliver pension companies nearer to purchasers and members of the scheme.

Dubbed SSNIT Saturday Service, the brand new innovation, launched on the Airport City department of the Trust, attracted members of the Trust, purchasers, pensioners, pension trustee firms and members of most of the people.

Speaking on the launch, the Deputy Director-General of SSNIT, in control of Administration and Finance, Mr Michael Addotey Addo, stated the SSNIT Saturday Service was in keeping with the Trust’s agenda to construct a customer-centric organisation.

“This means that on a daily basis, we are thinking through and implementing measures and interventions that will ensure that our members and clients have comfort, convenience and easy access to our services,” he defined.

Mr Addo additional added that fairly quite a lot of members and purchasers of the Trust had requested that SSNIT supplies alternative for them to do enterprise with SSNIT on Saturdays because of their incapability to go to the Trust’s workplaces through the weekdays.

“SSNIT has listened to the concerns of our members and we are opening our doors from October 2 to offer services to members on Saturdays. What this means is that with the exception of a few of the services we offer, you can walk into the selected branches on Saturdays and transact business with us,” he burdened.  

Mr Addo stated the SSNIT Saturday Service was another channel to make sure that members of the scheme and the general public had steady entry to the companies of the Trust.

The Deputy Director-General stated employers might additionally make funds if the 14th day of the month fell on a Saturday in an effort to keep away from penalties.

Mr Addo disclosed that the programme can be piloted for six months in 9 branches of SSNIT, and can be reviewed after three months and closing evaluation can be finished after the six months has elapsed to determine whether or not the programme needs to be prolonged to all of the department and regional workplaces.

He talked about that 9 branches for the pilot of the programme as Legon (inside the Golf House Building, Shiashie, Accra, Industrial Area adjoining New Times Corporation, North Industrial Area, Accra Trust Towers (inside the Trust Towers constructing, reverse Accra Hearts of Oak workplace, Accra), Airport City (inside the SSNIT Emporium constructing, Airport junction, Accra.

He stated the customer support of SSNIT was second to none, stressing that “the media should highlight more on the positives of SSNIT.”
