Afro-dancehall famous person Livingstone Etse Satekla, identified globally as Stonebwoy, has filed a lawsuit in opposition to aspiring politician and leisure critic Sadiq Abdulai Abu, popularly often called Baba Sadiq, for defamatory feedback made on social media.
The writ, submitted to the High Court of Justice on May 31, 2024, particulars Stonebwoy’s demand for Baba Sadiq to delete the offending tweets and situation an unqualified apology. Additionally, the reigning Ghanaian Artist of the Year seeks GHS 3 million in damages, claiming that the tweets have been made with malicious intent and aimed to defame him by spreading knowingly false statements.
The tweets in query accused Stonebwoy of being a violent feminine abuser, allegations that rapidly went viral and sparked intense debate amongst followers and the broader public.
These claims sharply distinction with Stonebwoy’s well-documented advocacy for girls’s rights and his involvement in quite a few philanthropic initiatives supporting girls.
